My Background

A graduate of Gulf Coast State College and University of Alaska Anchorage, I hold degrees in Liberal Arts and English Education. I began my work in 2012 as an editor with Monique Happy Editorial Services. I soon accepted work from Permuted Press, freelancing all the while. I edited for Burning Willow Press, and I continue to freelance.

It has been my extreme pleasure to work with very talented authors, including Robert M. Kerns, Timothy W. Long, Jonathan Moon, Tony Monchinski, Derrick LaCombe, Breanna Bright, and many more.

What Do I Do?

Quite simply, I work very closely with my client to help them produce their best story. I look for errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar, but I may do much more than that. I can examine the plot for holes, research and check facts, suggest changes where necessary, and analyze the overall structure and strength of the work. Please check out a few testimonials!

My Rates

Short Stories - Up to 20k words. $40 an hour, 2 hour minimum.

Novellas - Up to 60k words. .008 per word.

Anthologies or Collections - No maximum. .008 - .015 per word, depending on length of work, depth of editing required, and due date.

Literary Analysis of a Novel - $45 an hour, 8 hour minimum. I typically spend about ten hours performing this service. This is NOT editing/copyediting. I will provide detailed feedback, chapter by chapter, about bigger problems that I find in the work (writing in the incorrect voice/tense, character development, plot holes and fallacies, overuse of tropes/cliches, and many other writing habits/issues that easily become pitfalls).

Copyediting a Novel - .008 - .015 per word, depending on the depth of necessary work and the date the client requires completed edits. Minimum 60k words, no maximum. When copyediting, I will utilize Track Changes in Microsoft Office. I will automatically correct minor errors in spelling and punctuation. Issues such as unnecessary sentences/sections, lack of character development, sentence structure variation and flow, etc. will be discussed as comments in Track Changes. I will also provide feedback via email and Facebook.

My Goals

I want to help you succeed in the world of publishing. I want to develop a rapport with you. Being able to communicate well with your editor is very important. If you are considering my services, I will happily provide a free edit of ten pages of any novel-length work. Please feel free to read my testimonials section, and to follow up with any author or business I've worked with!
